Invitation to Change Challenge with Me

So once again, I’m starting my diet and I’d like to invite you all along this time.  I’ve been slacking and eating whatever I’d like, not doing what I say exercise wise and it bugs me.  What I’ve learned over the past few months is that I do much better in a pack than I do by myself.  I love positive reinforcement and working with others who have the same goal.

I’ll be working under the framework of Heather Fray’s Change Challenge, because it makes a lot of sense.  I’m going to adapt it a bit so it fits into my lifestyle, but the end game will be the same.  Making little changes that will all add up to a healthier, happier Hope.

Phase 1

Phase one is technically giving up pop and fast food, but I really don’t consume either.  Don’t get me wrong, I do put a lot of crappy food into my body, pop and fast food just don’t happen to be on the list.  So, this week for my change challenge, I’m going to

  • Track what I eat each day AND share it on my blog.  I’m tracking my steps with fitbit and will share that every day as well
  • Workout four times a week (30 minutes or more)
  • Take 10,000 steps a day no matter what

This is What I Need From all of You

  • Let me know if you’d like a work out buddy – I live in the city and have 10 punch cards for Cheerobix, Cheetah Gym and a month pass at Flirty Girl Fitness (the 6am Tue cardio class is fantastic)
  • If you see me making a bad food decision, call me on it.  I have a few friends who do this and I truly appreciate it.  In the long run, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels and I know this first hand. Sometimes I just need a gentile reminder
  • Join me on and let’s motivate each other
  • If you don’t see my daily update, ask me about it.  I really feel like I’ll be more consistent if my friends are keeping an eye on what I’m doing
  • Once I’m done tracking food for a week, I’d love some insights on what I should do to change my habits

My Goal
Everything Healthy TV’s next episode is Sunday, April 21st.  That’s 8 weeks away and I’d like to lose 8lbs by then.  I’d also like to have my eating under control without my prescription diet pills (that’s another post btw)

And, being true to my word one day at a time.  Here’s what I ate yesterday & fitbit results.  I actually didn’t hit 10,000 steps but made a valient attempt trying, jogging in place for 3,000 of them between 9pm – midnight while I was taking periodic breaks to update my summit website.
